You pulled our strings!

It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for us, travelling Europe and making lots of new friends along the way.

But now we’re back at Kaleido HQ, we’ve crunched the numbers, tied up all the loose ends (ba-dum-tsh!) and we’re finally ready to share with you the results of ‘You pull the strings!’.

What’s that we hear you say?

Well, if you were you with us in Munich for EASD 2016 or following along from afar on Twitter, you might have spied our rather beautiful interactive string wall. While at EASD, we decided to take advantage of having so many diabetes experts in the same place at once, and so we put you to work, picking your brains to find out what you thought about Kaleido, the diabetes industry and what you want to see in the future. So, without stringing it out any longer (see what we did there?), here’s what we found…

How long is a piece of string?

Pretty long it turns out! Together, we used over 1000m of string to create our string wall!

What do you do? You pull the strings! EASD 2016

Of everyone that took part, a massive 41% of you were healthcare providers. But industry, advocates and academics were well repped too.

Stringing it out…

We tried playing it cool, but we really wanted to see Antarctica get a mention on the wall…

It didn’t happen this year, but the rest of you lovely lot from around the world put some serious smiles on our faces! It sure is a small world!

No strings attached

At Kaleido, we like to shake things up and we’re not ready to settle for less than the best. And it looks like you guys are with us…

What does the diabetes industry need to improve? You pull the strings! EASD 2016

36% of you felt that there’s room for improvement when it comes to access and availability to pumping. Cost was another big problem for lots of you, and a whopping 11% also felt that companies need to be friendlier…big ups to the 13% of industry members who picked that as their top thing to work on!

More than one string to our bow (errr…are these wearing thin yet!?)

Design and simplicity were the big winners when it came to your favourite things about Kaleido…

What's your favourite Kaleido feature? You pull the strings! EASD 2016

…but we also had a lot of love for our small size, colours (we’re looking at you, Turquoise) and accuracy. Whoop whoop!

…and you still pull the strings!

So, what do you think of the results? Do you agree with those that love our design, or are you more excited by having choices? Do you adore Turquoise too, or do you think things are prettier in Pink? Is being friendly important, or is it great customer care that really rocks your world?

Though we’re working hard on our Netherlands and UK launches, we’re already planning ahead for new ways to help you put diabetes back in its place and live life on your own terms. You gave us some great pointers for next steps at EASD, and we can’t wait to show you what we come up with next. So watch this space…
