What types of insulin can I use with Kaleido?

Kaleido is currently approved for use with U100 Rapid-acting insulin – NovoRapid® or Humalog®. We’re looking into adding more insulin types in the future.

What about water? Can I dive/ swim/ bath/ shower with Kaleido?

Swimming: A little dip? No sweat! But your Kaleido pump can function in water up to 1.5 meters deep for up to one hour. If you’re planning on swimming longer or diving deeper than that, you’ll need to pause and remove your pump first. If you pause your pump, your handset will keep track of how much insulin you’ve missed. Every day: If you’re about to jump into a bath or shower, the water depth shouldn’t be a problem, but it’s important to consider your water temperature. We advise that you pause and remove your pump first, rather than expose it (and your insulin!) to high temperatures. Keep in mind that you need to keep your handset dry at all times. More information on how to use Kaleido in these situations you can find in our User Manual.

Does Kaleido have an app?

We think an app is a great idea! We don’t have one at the moment, but we’re definitely looking into it for the future.

How do I upload my data?

Although you can always find last week’s data in your History, sometimes either you or your Healthcare Professional might want to look back a little further to get even more detail from your Kaleido. With access to Glooko® or a Glooko® Uploader, there are just a few easy steps to follow.

I need an X-ray/MRI/CT, can I leave my pump on?

Do not use your pump or handset near a magnetic field. If you do, your pump and handset could be damaged. This includes any storage with magnetic clasps, MRI, X-ray, and CT scanners. You should pause or stop your pump, remove it from your body, and store it safely if you need to enter areas containing any of these devices. If you’re getting an MRI, it’s important to note that you should also take your infusion set off, since it has a small piece of metal in there. So, make sure you bring your inserter and a spare infusion set, so you can get back to pumping as soon as you’re done with the MRI.

Can I choose my favourite colour combination?

In the Netherlands and Germany you can choose between 10 different colour combinations for your pumps. The DBLG1 handset is clean and classic white.

Which sensor does DBLG1 communicate with?

For glucose levels readings, the system uses the Dexcom G6. DBLG1 System combines a Dexcom G6 continuous glucose monitor (CGM) and an insulin pump with a DBLG1 self-learning algorithm. It continuously monitors the user’s glucose levels and adjusts insulin delivery in real-time to maintain glucose levels within a target range.

How is DBLG1 connecting with the cloud?

DBLG1 utilizes a SIM card to establish a connection with both the network and the YourLoops cloud. However, it can only access the network in designated areas.

Is the DBLG1 handset waterproof?

The DBLG1 handset is not water-resistant or waterproof, so if you want to shower or enjoy some pool time, you’ll need to keep your handheld dry. However, the Kaleido pump is waterproof, allowing you to use it while exercising or relaxing in the pool for up to 1.5 meters deep for a maximum of 1 hour without any concerns.

Will DBLG1 receive software updates?

DBLG1 will receive regular software updates, and you will receive advance notifications. You won’t need to take any action. These updates will occur when the SIM card is connected to the network.
